Staying present, in this moment, can be very challenging in today’s world. Were either thinking about the past, what we wish we could change, the mistakes that we made or things that people said to us; or, we are thinking about tomorrow, what we need to do, appointments we have in place and goals we have set for life. It is not too often that we slow down, take a few deep breaths, and really look around at what is happening Now.
Peace activist and Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh discusses how focusing on your breath helps you stay present and feel fully alive. Once you start to notice your breath, you have the ability to be in the now. Please, give it a try. Allow yourself to be in the present moment just a few times a day. Eventually, it can be something you live your life around.
