7 Signs You Are In Love With The Wrong Person

For some people, they can meet someone and feel like they have found the love of their life. But have they really – or are they just filling a loneliness that they have inside? Is this new someone just filling that space? Or are they truly your soulmate? Any time you have stepped away from a place of inner peace, you need to question whether you are really where you are supposed to be. Here are 7 signs you are in love with the wrong person:

  •  You are putting more into it than them – You find yourself putting more of yourself into the relationship than them. You are responsible for so much more in every area of your lives. They sit around while you do all the work to keep life going.
  •  They exhaust you – And not in a good way. You should feel loaded with energy when you’re around the one you love, not totally stressed out and exhausted.
  •  You don’t look forward to doing things with them – This is the clearest sign something is wrong. You are set to go do something fun and instead of being excited, you are dreading it.
  •  You can’t picture a future together – 10 years from now, where do you see yourself? In another city? Working another job? Having kids? Having a dog? If you can picture them in your life, it’s time to move on.
  •  You feel defensive – If you feel like you have to defend yourself against the one you love, you may love the wrong person. You should not have to protect yourself against them, of all people.
  •  You don’t want to bring them around people you like – Bringing them home for the holidays or out for a night on the town with your friends seems like an awful idea. It’s almost as though you’re embarrassed by them. It’s yet another sign.

If you feel like you can relate to these signs, it’s better to walk away now – before it’s too late. You can either do it now, or five years from now and have a lifetime of consequences. Either way, it will never last if these are the things are going through. So do the hard thing now, because if you don’t, it will be much harder later.
